About the member
Proud to have been selected to be a Gamesmaker for the London 2012 Olympic/Paralympic Games.
I have been a Rotarian since December 2000 when I joined the Rotary Club of Bicester, Oxfordshire. My rotary District is 1090 which is Thames Valley and I am now volunteering as the district Lead for Youth Services.
Worked in the Not for Profit sector for over 30 years for high profile organisations including Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Compton Hospice and the British Heart Foundation. I now work for Cecily's Fund based in Witney. A major career highlight being the lead fundraiser 2010 - 2014 on a £12 million capital appeal to build 25 move on flats for a homeless charity based in Canning Town, East London.
Over the years I have developed a wide range of skills from co-ordinating appeals and campaigns, bid writing to event management. I have organised high profile PR events at the House of Lords, House of Commons, the Liberal Club and the Mansion House.
In 2003 I took part in a charity bike ride along the Nile in support of Macmillan Cancer Support. I did the London Marathon in 2004 raising funds for Compton Hospice. I also organised and took part in the Machu Piccu Inca Trail trek in Peru again for Compton Hospice in 2004. I did the New York Marathon in November 2004. In 2005 I organised and took part in a Sahara trek in Morocco for Victim Support. I did the London Marathon again in 2006.
